Yi Lite Cinematic 4 Tips
The Yi Lite is a little $60 action camera goes with me everywhere. With these 4 tips you get cinematic shots with the Yi Lite.
1. Use a gimbal or small tripod.
2. Shoot in 2K video mode. You can still use EIS while getting great image quality.
3. Walk as stable as you can. Even though the Yi Lite has electronic image stabilization (EIS), you still need to film in a smooth movement. That means your arm, which is holding the camera, has to be as stable as possible and I show you how you exactly how to achieve that.
4. Use in camera transitions and place the camera in interesting places.

Gear Review: YI Lite Action Camera
Small action cameras have been around for a LONG time. But I never had a real use for them in my workflow. I would watch videos that people created with them and appreciate how amazing they are. But I’m not doing any surfing, extreme hiking, rock climbing, or other adventure sport. Once in a while I would think it would be cool to have one when we go snow tubing or something, but those times are rare. The other reason I’ve waited is the price of a good action camera has always been a bit more than I wanted to spend on something like this.
However in the last couple of years I’ve been using my phones for more and more photography and video related project. As Chase Jarvis once said “The best camera is the one you have with you.” While these phones are getting better and in some cases doing things a traditional camera can’t. I am always afraid of breaking them or leaving it behind somewhere.
